THANK YOU CEDRIC!

 THANK YOU CEDRIC!

The man in the picture above has been referred to as many things in his 7 years as a professional wrestler. Current WWE Superstar Kevin Owens (fka Kevin Steen) called Cedric "the future of Ring of Honor" before Owens himself departed the company for World Wrestling Entertainment. Fans locally and globally simply refer to Alexander as "The Best in the World" and most recently Cedric has been the standout of WWE's inaugural Global Cruiserweight Classic on the WWE Network. Prior to all these accolades, Cedric Alexander began his career under the guidance of legendary wrestling trainer and former National Wrestling Alliance wrestler George South. South who has trained countless up and coming talents as well as many who have moved onto big careers on the national stage, names like current WWE Women's Champion Charlotte, Caleb Konley, and the sons of legendary former NWA Champions but none of those names shine any brighter than The Queen City's Favorite Son (another name Alexander has earned  through several years of proving himself with a large part of that coming in his home promotion, Premiere Wrestling Xperience based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. South shared some words that he used to remind Cedric of all the time, "' what you got nobody can have and what they got you don't want.''

Team 7oh4!

Cedric has done it all in PWX and it started with the formation of Team 7OH!4 as Alexander and Caleb Konley represented their hometown area code and battled some of the best teams in independent wrestling. Together, Alexander and Konley squared off with former ROH tag team champions The Briscoes, Country Jacked, and The All-Night Express before both men set their sights on singles glory and dissolved the ultra-popular team.

Once Cedric began his ascension to the top of PWX's singles division he was met with stiff challenges from Rhett Titus (the PWX Champion at the time) and the two had a historic feud that always brought the fans back to the building to see what would happen next. Former owner of PWX Tyshion Williams talked to me about his first impressions of Cedric, "I told him from the beginning you're going to WWE, everything he does is so crisp and perfect'

From that point on, Alexander began drawing the attention of many of the greatest talents in professional wrestling having outstanding matches with Eddie Edwards, Davey Richards, and Adam Page. Then came an unprecedented opportunity in August of 2012 Cedric Alexander challenged Kevin Steen on PWX Ippv with the Ring of Honor Heavyweight Title on the line! Though Cedric came up short, this can be looked at as the match that gained him the respect of the current WWE superstar and 2 time former Intercontinental Champion and eventually earned Alexander a contract with Ring of Honor Wrestling but there was much more to come for Cedric Alexander in PWX Wrestling.

If you follow the career of Cedric Alexander or follow independent wrestling in general, surely you've heard of the 'Dream Match Series'. "The Dream Match Series originally started as a single dream match (Alexander vs. Lethal) but it became much more. Cedric was the heart and soul of PWX" Williams reminisced fondly.  Alexander referred to this period of his career in Premiere Wrestling Xperience as 'saving his career' during a time he felt his talents were being squandered in Ring of Honor.

As Alexander was working his way to new territories and testing himself against the best, PWX brought in the best of the best to challenge The Queen City's Favorite Son and the result was a series of outstanding matches that raised Alexander's career to another level. During the 7 to 8 month stretch the Dream Series ran Alexander defeated Chris Hero, Kyle O' Reilly, Rich Swann, Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and Michael Elgin amongst others in a truly impressive stretch of victories. "The emotional part for me is that Cedric is awesome in the ring but how much he's matured in his day to day life" said Patrick Price, he continued by recalling "I first saw Cedric in a promotion called New Beginnings and immediately wanted to work closer with him".

Alexander vs. Lethal

Two matches in particular stand out in that Dream Match Series, both received rave reviews from wrestling fans all over and provided a special treat for the PWX faithful who were able to witness them LIVE! It was June of 2013, again on Ippv when Alexander finally got a match against former ROH Champion Jay Lethal, the man he looked up to and even based a lot of his career on. This one had a 'big match feel' and it over delivered in every way still holding up today as one of THE BEST matches in Premiere Wrestling Xperience history! Alexander earned a hard fought victory that night and once again earned a little more respect and prestige as his career continued to ascend.

In January of 2014 the impressive 'Dream Match Series' win streak came to an end at the hands of current WWE Superstar and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles. What could have been considered a bump in the road only elevated Cedric's career that much higher as Cedric proved once again he belongs in the ring with the best of the best not only in the United States, but in the World. Following the 'Dream Match Series' Cedric shifted his focus to his former tag team partner and at the time PWX Champion Caleb Konley, the two had a four month feud that headlined each and every PWX show during those months and in May of 2014 Alexander defeated Konley and began an epic 357 day reign atop Premiere Wrestling Xperience. In that stretch of time Cedric successfully defended the title against former champion Caleb Konley, former WWE Superstar PJ Black (fka Justin Gabriel), current WWE NXT Champion Samoa Joe and several others. Keep in mind, Alexander did this while working a full schedule for Ring of Honor Wrestling where he competed against the best of the best, traveled abroad to many top promotions facing off with top talents and still maintained his spot as the top guy in Premiere Wrestling Xperience.

Even since losing the PWX Championship, Cedric is back to challenging himself against the very best having recent battles with David Starr and rematches with Michael Elgin and Chris Hero. The latest challenges for The Queen City's Favorite Son was a first time ever International Dream Match which saw Alexander defeat Current PWG World Champion, and fellow WWE Global Cruiserweight Classic competitor Zack Sabre Jr. The match took place in June of 2016 and was immediately labeled a match of the year candidate and a 'must see' for all fans of professional wrestling. One month later came another clash with yet another of the UK's top stars "The Villain" Marty Scurll. Once again Cedric proved no matter what, 'The Best in The World' has on his plate he always rises to the occasion and pulled out another impressive victory.

 Alexander vs Styles

The final chapter in the historic PWX career of Cedric Alexander was written on August 21st in his hometown of Charlotte as Alexander challenged his close friend and the new PWX World Champion "The Manscout" Jake Manning in the main event at 'Scouts Honor' Over 4 Life. Cedric did not become a 2 time PWX World Champion but he did provide one more lasting memory for the PWX fans, staff, and everyone blessed enough to bear witness to his rise to stardom over the last 7 years. Cedric shared several special moments in the ring with his fellow members of the PWX family, and emotionally addressed all the fans in attendance before walking through the PWX curtain one final time. PWX Owner Brian Kanabroski shared "I am extremely happy for Cedric and his family and wish him a world of success at the next level. Through the best and worst of times, Cedric was always a reason to show up to PWX." It has truly been a magical run in Premiere Wrestling Xperience for Cedric Alexander and what we've all been lucky enough to witness for 7 years is now what a worldwide audience of wrestling fans are just beginning to get a taste of.  Cedric has already been embraced by the legendary Triple H for his work in the Global Cruiserweight Classic and WWE RAW's new Cruiserweight division needs a leader; it's time for The Queen City's Favorite Son to take his rightful place in the nationwide spotlight.

THANK YOU CEDRIC! YOU DESERVE IT!
